ভারতের পশ্চিমবঙ্গের আসানসোলে অবস্থিত কাজী নজরুল ইসলাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিশেষ সমাবর্তনে সম্মানসূচক ডক্টর অব লিটারেচার (ডি.লিট) উপাধি পেলেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা। আজ শনিবার আসানসোলে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টির বিশেষ সমাবর্তনে শেখ হাসিনাকে সম্মানসূচক এ ডিগ্রি দেয়া হয়।
শোষণমুক্ত ও বৈষম্যহীন সমাজ গঠনে এবং গণতন্ত্র, নারীর ক্ষমতায়ন, দারিদ্র্য দূরীকরণ এবং অার্থ সামাজিক উন্নয়নের মাধ্যমে সাধারণ মানুষের জীবনমান উন্নয়নে অসাধারণ ভূমিকা রাখায় তার স্বীকৃতি হিসেবে শেখ হাসিনাকে এ উপাধি দেয়া হয়।
বিশেষ সমাবর্তন ও ডি-লিট প্রদান অনুষ্ঠানে বাংলাদেশের শিক্ষামন্ত্রী নুরুল ইসলাম নাহিদ, পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী এ এইচ মাহমুদ আলী, সংস্কৃতিমন্ত্রী আসাদুজ্জামান নুর, প্রধানমন্ত্রীর উপদেষ্টা এইচ টি ইমাম, গওহর রিজভী, তৌফিক-ই-ইলাহী চৌধুরীসহ বাংলাদেশের শিক্ষা, সংস্কৃতি ও রাজনৈতিক অঙ্গনের কয়েকজন প্রতিনিধি যোগ দিয়েছেন।
ভারতের প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদীর আমন্ত্রণে দু’দিনের সরকারি সফরে শুক্রবার কলকাতা গেছেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী। শনিবার সকালে বাংলাদেশ বিমানের একটি ভিভিআইপি ফ্লাইটে প্রধানমন্ত্রী ও তার সফরসঙ্গীরা শাহজালাল বিমানবন্দর থেকে কলকাতায় নেতাজী সুবাস চন্দ্র বসু আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দরে পৌঁছান। এরপর সেখান থেকে শেখ হাসিনা হেলিকপ্টারে কলকাতা থেকে প্রায় ১৮০ কিলোমিটার উত্তরে বীরভূম জেলার বোলপুর শান্তিনিকেতনে পৌঁছান। সেখানে বিশ্বভারতী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সমাবর্তন অনুষ্ঠানে যোগ দেন তিনি।
